Welcome to CitizHub ("we," "our," or "us"). CitizHub is an independent mobile application developed by Vicky Studios. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application CitizHub (the "App"), distributed on Google Play under the package name com.b44.nacio. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the App.

Independence from Government

CitizHub is independent and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Government of Portugal, the Instituto dos Registos e do Notariado (IRN), the Conservatória dos Registos Centrais, or any official government entity. The App helps users track the status of their Portuguese nationality applications by querying publicly accessible information from the official Portuguese government portal at meu.registo.justica.gov.pt using credentials that the user themselves provides.

Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you use the App, you may voluntarily provide us with:

• Google account information (name, email address, and profile picture) when you choose to sign in with Google.
• Application tracking data you manually enter, such as tracking codes (senhas de acesso), application types, and process stages related to your nationality application. Access codes are used solely to query the official Portuguese government portal on your behalf and are never stored on our servers.
• Community post text, comments, and optional image attachments that you choose to submit to the in-app community.
• Problem reports voluntarily submitted through the "Report a Problem" feature.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use our App, certain information may be collected automatically, including:

• Device information such as your mobile device ID, model, and operating system.
• Usage data such as features you access and actions you take within the App.
• Diagnostic and crash data to help us improve app stability.
• Anonymised, one-way hashed versions of your access code combined with non-personal data (year, registry office, current process stage) to power aggregated community statistics. This data cannot be used to identify you or reconstruct your access code.

2.3 Advertising Data

Our App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data to serve personalized ads, including:

• Advertising ID (GAID on Android, IDFA on iOS)
• IP address
• Device and usage information

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features.
• Allow you to track and manage your Portuguese nationality application process.
• Send you local push notifications related to updates or reminders (only if you grant permission).
• Display relevant advertisements through Google AdMob.
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the App's performance and user experience.
• Detect and prevent technical issues, fraud, or abuse.

Firebase and Google Services

Our App uses Firebase, a platform developed by Google, for the following purposes:

• Firebase Authentication — to manage user sign-in via Google.
• Firebase Firestore — to store and sync community posts, comments, and anonymised statistics.
• Firebase Storage — to host user-uploaded community post images.
• Firebase Remote Config — to manage in-app feature flags.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: We may share data with third-party vendors (such as Google Firebase, Google AdMob, and Google Sign-In) who assist us in operating the App. These parties are obligated to keep your information confidential.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Push Notifications

The App may request permission to send you push notifications. These notifications may include reminders, updates, or relevant news related to Portuguese nationality applications. You may opt out of receiving push notifications at any time by adjusting the notification settings on your mobile device.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. You can permanently delete your CitizHub account and all associated data at any time directly from within the App: open Settings → Delete Account. Upon deletion, your authored community posts and uploaded images are removed from our servers.

Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Our App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we may take appropriate action.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
